With three wins to his name in 2017, Connor Swift may have joined Madison Genesis as a relative unknown in 2017 but quickly became notorious.
Victories came at rounds six and ten of the Tour Series, as well as the team's only national road race win of 2017 at the Leicester Castle Classic.
It has been a remarkable comeback for Swift who joined the team after recovering from a horrific mid-season crash in 2016.
Sustaining six vertebrae fractures, seven rib fractures, one fracture on the base of his skull, metacarpal fractures on his right hand, right scapula fracture, small pneumothorax on right lung and a left tibial laceration, Swift made a stunning recovery.
Back on the bike within months, racing and winning at regional level showed his level of commitment to returning quickly and seamlessly to the sport.
But nobody could have predicted the level of Connor's success in his first year as a full time professional.
“The first half of 2016 was exactly where I wanted to be with the results I was achieving. The stand-outs were 10th at Chorley GP, sixth at the Tour of Reservoir and winning the Yorkshire Regional Championships.
“Unfortunately, I had a major crash which set me back for the rest of the season. Due to this, I am now more motivated than ever for 2017. My ambitions are to be there for the team and be consistent. I would love to see some results along the way. I am also keen to do some stage racing with the team. I would be over the moon to get a ride in the big races such as the Tour de Yorkshire.”
