Developed for the toughest races on Britain’s unforgiving roads, Genesis present the new Zero Disc SL.
In 2019 Madison Genesis will race exclusively on disc brakes, for optimum performance in the most demanding conditions.
Comfortably under the 1kg-barrier, the Zero Disc SL has enough comfort to handle the dirt secteurs of the notorious CiCLE Classic, the rolling hills of the Tour de Yorkshire and the twists and turns of the Tour Series.
Sharing the same geometry and 30/40T carbon fibre layup as the rim-braked Genesis Zero SL means the frame is born out of national championship-winning pedigree.
Riders can be assured that they will enjoy the same fast handling and smooth riding characteristics of the original, with the addition of disc brakes.
Working in close collaboration with the team of designers at Genesis Bikes, team riders have helped develop not only the Zero Disc SL, but bikes across the range including the Zero SL and carbon cyclo-cross Vapour.
The all new Zero Disc SL frameset is available to buy now.
BUILDING THE DREAM
Each Madison Genesis race bike is expertly built by team mechanic Chuck – from the first step of cutting the steerer, to the finishing touch of crimping the cables.
Assembled using a chest of Park Tools, the Zero is adorned with Shimano’s Dura Ace Di2 9150 groupset which ensures faultless shifting and braking.
Performance is measured using the new Shimano Dura Ace powermeter chainset, with data sent to riders' Garmin 1030.
Riders choose from Shimano’s four tubular carbon wheelsets – the C24, C40, and C60. The C40 is the default choice for most races thanks to its stiffness, lightweight, fast rolling and aerodynamic characteristics.
All-new Maxxis High Road tubular tyres are glued by hand to each wheelset. Riders typically run pressures between 80-100psi.
Each bike is finished with limited edition stealth bar, stem and seatpost from PRO’s Vibe range – along with a variety of saddles matched to riders' personal preference.
PRO also provide the bar wrap.
Extras include K-Edge's chain catcher and out front mount. Elite Custom Race Plus bottle cages complete the build.
Typical weight for the Zero Disc SL full build is 7.2kg in size medium.
The all-new Genesis Zero Disc SL frameset is on sale now at our UK retail partner, Freewheel.
