This weekend saw the official launch of the Madison Genesis road team at the London Bike Show.

A packed house witnessed the first public outing of the team, complete with the much anticipated steel race bike, the Genesis Volare. Also unveiled during the launch was the team kit, produced by title sponsor Madison Clothing. The team's stunning kit and exquisite steel bike were the talk of the show with team manager Roger Hammond and Genesis designer Dom Thomas captivating the audience with in-depth insights into the ethos of this exciting new addition to the UK peloton.

The full team were in attendance with seasoned hand Dean Downing giving an insight into his leading role as a team mate come mentor for a team that is full of young, untapped talent. The full Madison Genesis lineup for 2013 is as follows : Dean Downing, Andy Tennant, Ian Bibby, Sebastian Baylis, Alex Peters, Brennan Townshend, Dominic Jelfs, Jack Pullar, Liam Holohan and Chris Snook.

But a few hours after the launch, the team had their first ever race at the IG Markets London Nocturne. Expectation was high for the team to deliver and they did not disappoint! Dean Downing attacked from the off, paving for way for Ian Bibby to power through the pack and take control of the race with an impressive lead. Downing then showed his vast experience by holding off counters from the chasing riders, allowing Bibby to take a sizeable lead which quickly became totally unassailable. Bibby's emphatic win was greeted by rapturous applause and cheers from the assembled crowds and planting the Madison Genesis flag firmly on the map of the UK peloton.
