Round eight of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series was a kilometre rectangular circuit in the very heart of Canary Wharf. Huge crowds once again greeted the riders, creating a very special atmosphere amongst the high rise buildings.
Fantastic weather, dry roads and a less technical circuit ensured the race was run at impressive 52 km/h average! With such a high speed it was always going to be difficult to form a breakaway, it didn't deter Madison Genesis riders though, with the entire team trying several times to break the elastic. It wasn't to be however and the bunch remained intact for the majority of the race with the inevitable bunch sprint decided the major placings.
Jack Pullar lead the team home in ninth place, with the team finishing fourth but more importantly closing the gap to Raleigh in the overall standings by two points.
"A very fast race at Canary Wharf, I even managed a fastest lap until Chris Opie and his mates got involved on the last lap and beat me by one second! We rode another good team race again, attacking all the way" Team Rider–Dean Downing
