Since announcing the formation of the Madison Genesis team earlier this year, Team Manager, Roger Hammond has been putting together a formidable team comprising of rising talent and seasoned riders alike for the debut of the Madison Genesis team in 2013.

Youth is a key part of this development-focused team, with five U23 riders sharing the roads with some of the most experienced and knowledgeable riders in the UK. Through this mixture of upcoming and established riders we hope to be able to nurture and grow these young talents into the next generation of British road champions. With experienced riders on-hand within both the race and support teams, there is a wealth of knowledge to be imparted upon these young riders, a number of whom are making their first move to a fully-fledged team.

The Madison Genesis 2013 Team:

Dean Downing

Deano is perhaps the best known British-based professional rider of the last decade. He is a winner in Premier Calendars, Tour Series, Elite Circuit Series and a former National Champion. At 37 years of age, Dean is in the twilight of his career but still has the hunger and energy of a 20 year old. He will bring experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to help our young riders develop at a quicker pace.

"2013 is looking like an exciting year for me; it's definitely going to be a busy one! I'm looking forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to the Madison Genesis team and helping the younger riders to progress further. I'm also looking forward to getting my hands in the air again after a frustrating 2012" Dean Downing

Andy Tennant

As a World Track Champion and a member of the London 2012 track team, Andy is an exciting addition to the team. At 25 years of age, he has won Premier Calendars, finished on the podium in National Criterium Championships and has European and World track titles. He will bring speed and experience to the team.

"The move to Madison Genesis was the perfect one for me, with the team outlook and ethos reflecting my own. I feel that the coming season with Madison Genesis will be an exciting one which will help me to continue improving and claiming some great results"Andy Tennant

Ian Bibby

Ian is an all-rounder with a winning mentality. A former national cyclocross champion like his new manager Roger Hammond, Ian is a rider who always gets in the moves. In 2012 he won a stage of La Mi Aout en Bretagne and has shone at the Tour of Britain previously. He is a great bike handler with bags of potential and we are excited to have him on the team.

Sebastian Baylis

As a final year junior this year Sebastian has achieved some fantastic results including several victories. However the performances that really caught the attention of Madison Genesis was the aggressive attacking riding style that secured him a silver medal at the National Road Race Championships.

Alex Peters

Alex is also a first year professional next year. This year he was one of the most exciting juniors in the country. He sacrificed his lead in the national rankings - which he held until the last event of the year - to make sure he was at his best when selected to represent Great Britain at the recent World Championships in Valkenburg. His scintillating performance at the championships saw him attacking all race then switch roles to help his team mate Jon Dibben achieve 5th place.

Brennan Townshend

Another youngster! Brennan was the number one ranked rider in the country as a junior, achieved by winning the hardest international races in the country. Brennan has talent in abundance, unfortunately illness and circumstance has meant he hasn't fulfilled half his potential this year. Despite this he had several top-10 results whilst completing his first year as a professional. With a great team structure and a strong team behind him we expect to see Brennan winning races once again.

Dominic Jelfs

Dominic first caught Roger's eye while he was still actively riding as a professional. As a member of the British talent academy (a short list for the national U23 team) he made Roger's life very difficult on training rides despite having spent the prior days working full time staking shelves at an Argos warehouse and working evenings in a Bar. He worked all winter to save enough money to follow his dream to be a professional rider. His dogged perseverance was finally rewarded this year with his first victory in an UCI ranked international race.

Jack Pullar

Jack Pullar is a rider with bags of potential. He first came to the attention of the team in the British Cycling Elite Circuit Series. He has an aggressive attacking style and was mixing it in the races with riders with far more experience. Signing him already appears to be a good decision. With his recent surprise win in the National Hill Climb Championships, Jack is going to be a fantastic addition to the team.

Liam Holohan

Liam has been riding as a professional for two seasons now and is already building a reputation as one of the most versatile riders in the UK with several victories, and a regional title. Equally at home in city centre criterium as on a long climb in the Tour of Britain. This year he has excelled at both, however his attacking style at the Tour of Britain this year certainly shows he has the right mentality to progress and convert those attacks into race wins. We are excited to help him achieve his potential.

Chris Snook

Chris is an exciting rider to have on the team, having completed a degree and holding down a full time job at Madison. Chris has still been able to obtain a 1st category licence in the UK, despite not any major team or support. It is riders with this kind of determination to achieve their goals despite the circumstances in which they find themselves that capture Roger's imagination. Given the support, knowledge and encouragement that Madison-Genesis can provide, we are sure we will see Chris progress very quickly.

The new Madison Genesis team is an exciting blend of young talent combined with proven winners and experienced mentors to achieve the goals set out for the team. Madison Genesis is a predominantly U23 team that is seeking to be a UCI Continental team in 2013.

"The last few months have been inspiring. To start with a blank sheet of paper and go talent spotting to find some incredible U23 riders and to be given the opportunity to sign well known British names has been great. When Madison Genesis was announced, we were contacted by many young British riders looking for a chance to shine and I have enjoyed finding out what a depth of talent we have in this country. This team is a well-considered selection and we can't wait to get racing. The structure includes 5 U23 riders combined with very experienced riders so we can pass on their knowledge as well as develop them further" Roger Hammond, Madison Genesis Team Manager

"A great deal of consideration has gone into selecting the right mix and calibre of riders for the inaugural year of the Madison Genesis team. It was important for us to find riders who share our brand vision, our determination for success and above all can work well together as a team." Dominic Langan, Madison CEO
