Tom Stewart retained his slender lead in the King of the Mountains classification on stage four of the 2015 Aviva Tour of Britain.
On the 217-kilometre route from Edinburgh to Blyth, Mark McNally made a courageous effort to make it into the break of the day, however the peloton were cautious in letting a move go too early.
After 30-kilometres six riders did go clear and although it did not contain any Madison Genesis representation, the group would take all the points on offer.
With no threat to Stewart’s King of the Mountains lead, the team could spend a day in the wheels of the peloton ahead of the queen stage of the race.
Stage five may be short at 166-kilometres, but the first category summit finish on Hart Side will likely prove a decisive moment of the race.
